Mexican Trade Mission to Visit and Form Partnerships

Local businesses will have an opportunity to connect with businesses from Mexico at an upcoming luncheon hosted by the City of Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce. Anyone wanting to learn more about doing business across the border is encouraged to attend.

The luncheon will be held at the new Santa Fe Community Convention Center on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 11:45am to welcome the guests to Santa Fe.  The event is open to the public and costs $25 per person.  RSVPs are required to 505-988-3279.

Approximately 15-20 Juarez based companies representing the high-tech, food, consumer products and industrial supplier markets will be participating in the trade mission.  The visit is being organized by the New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Office of Mexican Affairs, along with the International Business Accelerator and will take place in Albuquerque and Santa Fe on November 5-7, 2008.

Business-to-business sessions will be arranged in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe.  If your company is interested in meeting with any of the Mexican companies please contact Randy Trask of the New Mexico Economic Development Department (ph: 505-827-0265, [email protected]) or Jerry Pacheco of the International Business Accelerator (ph: 575-589-2200, [email protected]).

At present, Mexican companies representing the following sectors have confirmed their attendance for this trade mission:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Tortilla chips and tostadas
  • Traditional Mexican mole sauce producer
  • Aviation products such as floats and Fast Builds (fuselage, wings, and controls); and any aviation-related process involving sheet metal, composite, TIG, welding and fabrics.
